Hello Backers and other well-wishers!
It’s the last week of the Kickstarter and we’re still plugging away at Stretch Goal 6: Professionally Made Quickstart Tutorial Video. I know we can get there before next Thursday! Let’s keep the momentum going and finish strong!
We’ve started putting our art team to work already in anticipation of our getting funded next week. Let’s have a look at some of the stuff they’ve made/are working on.
First, Leah Porter’s new watercolor painting, “Love and Death” depicting the Goddess Freyja. Freyja is one of the five Norse Gods with their own Domain in Sagas of Midgard. While Freyja was the goddess of growth and fertility, she was also a goddess of death; she commanded the Valkyries and received half of the warriors slain in battle to her hall Folkvang in Asgard. Leah wanted to capture both sides of Freyja, and we think she’s done a great job:
We’ve also put James Cornell to work on the cover of the book. While searching for inspiration, he found it in an admittedly strange place: the album cover art of Molly Hatchet, specifically “Flirtin’ With Disaster”. Maintaining that as a starting point, we decided to use that style but cut right to the chase for the cover: Viking warriors facing down Jormungandr the World-Serpent at Ragnarok. It hasn’t been added in yet, but as progress continues to be made keep an eye out for pieces of the shattered rainbow bridge Bifrost and fire raining from the sky. Even though this is (obviously) a WORK IN PROGRESS, it already looks really cool and we can’t wait to see the finished project!
“Live, from Atlanta…”
As we mentioned last update, we want to close this campaign out with you, the people who made it all possible. We will be going Live on Kickstarter and Facebook at 6:45 PM EST (GMT -0500) on March 1st. We’ve invited our creative team and our playtesters to join us to discuss their experiences playing Sagas of Midgard and our vision for the final product as we move full-steam into production. We hope you’ll stop by with any questions, comments, gentle trolling (BRING ITTTTTT) or congratulations.

Last Week Blitz: Getting The Word Out
As the campaign draws to a close, we’re doing everything we can via social media and ad buys on Facebook and RPG Geek to get the word out to as many people as possible. A lot is asked of backers, and we’ve tried not to ask too much of you guys (you’ve done enough, and we’re very grateful) but if you’re able, would you mind sharing this project with even one friend? Word of mouth has been the biggest driver of this campaign so far, and the excitement of our backers and fans has been one of our favorite parts of the Kickstarter campaign so far.
